The best AI agencies in London for building an AI product in 2026, in the order this guide ranks them, are &above, Faculty, Ronins, Elsewhen, Foundry 5, Pixelfield, and Studio Graphene. Each one builds AI software, not only strategy, and each has a London base that its own website confirms. To choose, ask each agency for a named system it has put into production, find out who will build yours, and start with a small first engagement that ends in a working prototype. &above publishes this guide and ranks itself first. No firm paid for a place.

This list is about builders. If you need an AI strategy, a governance programme, or a large adviser such as McKinsey, Accenture, or Deloitte, read our separate review of the [best AI consulting firms in London and the UK](https://www.andabove.com/feed/best-ai-consulting-firms-london-uk-2026.md). If you want firms that specialise in AI agents across the whole country, read our list of the [top AI agent development companies in the UK](https://www.andabove.com/feed/top-ai-agent-development-companies-in-the-uk-2026.md). This guide is for product, technology, and innovation leads at London scale-ups and enterprises who want an AI product or AI agents built and shipped.

## What to look for in a London AI agency

Look for a partner that builds an AI product or agent, puts it into production with your data and your systems, and leaves your team able to run it. A demo is cheap to make now. The hard part comes when the system meets real users, legacy APIs, and compliance rules, and an agency that has done that work can show you the result with a client name on it.

Three things separate a builder from an adviser. The first is who writes the code. Ask whether the people in the pitch are the people who will build the system, and whether they will work inside your team or hand over a document at the end. The second is evidence. A named client, a live system, and a measured result tell you more than a list of logos. The third is ownership. Find out who owns the code, the prompts, and the infrastructure after launch, and whether your team will be able to change the system without the agency.

A London base still helps. Workshops, sprint reviews, and time with your users are easier when the team can be in the room.

## How we ranked this list

To qualify, a firm had to publish an offer to build AI software, products, or agents, and confirm a London office or headquarters on its own website. We reviewed each firm's own site on 2 November 2026 and left out any firm whose site we could not read. We then ordered the qualifying firms by five factors that we set for this guide.

Named production work carries the most weight. A case study with a named client and a measured result ranks above one with an unnamed client, and both rank above logos with no detail. London presence comes next, from the firm's own address or office list. Build versus advise is the third factor: we favoured firms whose public offer covers design, engineering, and deployment, not only recommendations. The fourth factor is the engagement model, and how clearly the firm explains how work starts and how a team is formed. The last factor is ownership after launch, and whether the firm says the client keeps the code and the capability.

This is an editorial ranking, not an audit. We attribute each firm's claims to the firm and link to its source. Missing public evidence receives no credit, but it does not prove the work does not exist, so ask each firm directly. &above publishes this guide and ranks itself, and links its own case studies so that you can check them.

## The shortlist: London AI agencies that build

### 1. &above, the AI agency that embeds engineers in your team

&above is an [AI agency in London](https://www.andabove.com/services/ai-agency.md), based in Southwark, that builds AI automation, AI agents, and AI-native software for scale-ups and enterprises. The model is simple to state. We hire the AI engineers, we manage them, and they work embedded in your team, in your standups and your repositories. Most engagements start with an AI Launchpad workshop or a Proof of Concept, then move to an embedded team once the idea has proved its value. Our [forward-deployed engineers](https://www.andabove.com/services/forward-deployed-engineers.md) build alongside your people, so the capability transfers as the work ships and your team owns the system. When the harder question is what to build, an AI Product Squad adds product management and design to the same team.

The public work is named and measured. For Google Cloud, &above built the [Gemini Sales Sidekick](https://www.andabove.com/work/google/scaling-googles-salesforce-with-custom-solutions.md), an AI agent that 5,000 sellers use every month, with a 64% time saving against sample manual time. For [Tesco Retail Media](https://www.andabove.com/work/tesco/retail-media-from-weeks-to-live-in-days.md), &above built an AI compliance engine and ad builder that took creative approvals from up to four weeks to days. For [Sage](https://www.andabove.com/work/sage/disparate-data-to-creative-intelligence.md), a one-day AI Launchpad workshop led to a working prototype of a Creative Intelligence Agent on Gemini and Google Cloud, which lets marketers ask questions about campaign performance in plain English.

&above is best for teams that want an AI product or [AI agents](https://www.andabove.com/services/ai-agent-development.md) designed and built by one embedded team, with the code and the knowledge staying in-house after launch. This is our own guide, so check the case studies and the [contact route](https://www.andabove.com/contact.md) before you shortlist us.

### 2. Faculty

[Faculty](https://faculty.ai/en-gb/ai-services?utm_source=andabove.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=best-ai-agencies-london-2026) is a London AI specialist with an office on Old Street. Its services page covers AI strategy, design, infrastructure, development, operations, change, and safety, and says it will "develop custom AI systems that are high performing and safe from the ground up." Its [Cera case study](https://faculty.ai/en-gb/ourwork/cera?utm_source=andabove.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=best-ai-agencies-london-2026) describes a system that scores each person's risk of hospitalisation from the reports carers file during home visits. Faculty says the system predicted 80% of hospitalisations one to seven days in advance and gave hospitalisation estimates 2.6 times more accurate than clinicians. Its other public work includes the NHS and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory.

Faculty is best for high-assurance AI work in health, government, defence, and energy, where safety and evidence matter as much as speed. Faculty also appears in our consulting firms guide, because its offer spans strategy as well as build.

### 3. Ronins

[Ronins](https://www.ronins.co.uk/ai-software-development-company/?utm_source=andabove.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=best-ai-agencies-london-2026) is a digital growth agency with offices on Tavistock Street in London and in Guildford. It combines marketing, product, and AI, and its AI development page says it builds AI agents that "read your documents using natural language processing and answer questions from your own data", with human sign-off built in where needed. It also describes its own agentic platform, Sonae, which it says covers authentication, orchestration, and audit trails so that builds start faster.

For named work, Ronins says it built a web application with AI and automation for the cybersecurity firm CYSIAM, where "three days of reporting became thirty minutes." Its [Conterra case study](https://www.ronins.co.uk/case-study/conterra/?utm_source=andabove.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=best-ai-agencies-london-2026) describes a platform that uses AI to extract and map threat incidents from hundreds of data sources. Ronins is best for a scale-up or mid-sized business that wants AI built into its website, internal systems, or customer platform, alongside marketing and growth work.

### 4. Elsewhen

[Elsewhen](https://www.elsewhen.com/?utm_source=andabove.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=best-ai-agencies-london-2026) calls itself an AI consultancy, but its public offer is about building agentic systems. Its contact page lists offices in London, Manchester, and Dallas. It sells two kinds of work. Agentic Operations automates internal work, and Agentic Modernisation rebuilds existing software as custom agentic systems, with the client keeping the IP and the codebase. Elsewhen describes a four-week first engagement in four steps: identify, build, prove, and scale.

Its [work page](https://www.elsewhen.com/work?utm_source=andabove.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=best-ai-agencies-london-2026) reports measured results, but most clients are unnamed. It describes AI semantic search for a European travel brand that, two weeks after launch, it says was tracking to £15m in incremental annual booking revenue, and an agentic pipeline for a global credit manager that it says cut portfolio onboarding time by 92%. Elsewhen is best for a business that wants agents to take over an existing operational process or replace legacy software. Ask for named references, because most of the public cases do not name the client.

### 5. Foundry 5

[Foundry 5](https://foundry-5.com/services/ai-development?utm_source=andabove.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=best-ai-agencies-london-2026) describes itself as an "AI first development studio & advisory" based on St John's Lane in London. It builds AI, web, and mobile products for founders and enterprise teams, and describes its AI development as systems that are "evaluated, and monitored from day one." It also offers MVP development, which it says takes an idea to a live product in about four weeks.

Its [Ove case study](https://foundry-5.com/portfolio/ove-care?utm_source=andabove.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=best-ai-agencies-london-2026) describes a menstrual wellness app for iOS and Android with AI daily insights, cycle analytics, and a wellness chatbot. Foundry 5 is best for a founder who needs a first AI product, or an AI feature in a new app, designed and shipped quickly.

### 6. Pixelfield

[Pixelfield](https://pixelfield.co.uk/ai-development-services/ai-agents-development/?utm_source=andabove.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=best-ai-agencies-london-2026) is a London software agency, working since 2013, with its headquarters on City Road and studios in Prague and Amsterdam. It builds mobile apps, web applications, and AI features, including LLM integration, retrieval-augmented generation, chatbots, and agents. Its agent development page is specific about production. It says irreversible actions go through human approval, that there is a kill switch, and that "we spend more time on monitoring and guardrails than on agent logic." Its process starts with a two-week discovery, then an optional proof of concept before the build.

Pixelfield's public case studies cover mobile, virtual reality, and streaming products, such as Kaleido and Fellas Loaded, but the pages we reviewed did not include a named AI client project with a measured result. Pixelfield is best for a team that wants AI agents or LLM features added to a mobile or web product by an agency with long app-building experience.

### 7. Studio Graphene

[Studio Graphene](https://www.studiographene.com/our-services/ai-product-development?utm_source=andabove.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=best-ai-agencies-london-2026) is an AI product design and development studio headquartered in London, with studios in Delhi, Lisbon, and Geneva. Its AI product development page says it builds "production-grade systems that perform, scale and evolve in real-world conditions" and "conversational and agent-driven systems." It offers AI product strategy, design, and development from one in-house team.

Studio Graphene says it has delivered more than 300 products. The pages we reviewed did not include a named AI case study with a measured result, so ask for one. Studio Graphene is best for a founder or product team that wants a new AI-native product designed and built by a single studio.

## Builders versus strategy consultancies: which do you need?

Use a builder when you know the problem and need a working system. Use a strategy consultancy when you do not yet know where AI should go in the business, or when the work is a large programme across many markets, systems, and governance teams. An AI consultancy usually advises and stops at recommendations. An AI agency ships the automation, agents, or software that it recommends.

The line is not strict. Faculty sells strategy and build, and &above runs AI Launchpad workshops and Proofs of Concept before it builds. Large consultancies also publish build services. But if your brief is "build and ship this", a builder is the more direct route, because the people who scope the work also write the code. Our [consulting firms guide](https://www.andabove.com/feed/best-ai-consulting-firms-london-uk-2026.md) covers the strategy houses and global integrators, and our article on [how to select an AI product agency in the UK](https://www.andabove.com/feed/how-to-select-an-ai-product-agency-in-the-uk.md) explains how to compare build partners.

## Starting small: workshop and proof of concept before an embedded team

You can test an agency before you commit to a long build. Most of the builders in this list publish a small first step. Pixelfield describes a two-week discovery and an optional proof of concept. Elsewhen describes a four-week first engagement. Ronins starts with discovery and a rapid prototype. &above starts with an AI Launchpad workshop or a Proof of Concept.

A workshop brings the right people into one room to choose a use case and test assumptions. At Sage, a one-day AI Launchpad workshop with senior stakeholders found the opportunity that became the Creative Intelligence Agent. A proof of concept then builds a working prototype on sample data. &above's Proof of Concept ends with a working prototype and a clear go or no-go on the business case. At Tesco, the first step was an evaluation suite that tested Gemini against real approval rules before any product was built around it.

Once the proof of concept has shown value, an embedded team builds the production system. You spend a small amount to learn whether the idea works, see how the agency's people build, and decide on the larger engagement with evidence. For cost questions, our guide to [how much AI product development costs](https://www.andabove.com/feed/how-much-does-ai-product-development-cost.md) explains what drives the price of each stage.

## Buyer checklist for a London AI build

Ask every agency on your shortlist these questions before you sign.

Can you show me a system you have put into production, with the client's name and a measured result? An unnamed case or a logo wall is a weaker answer, though some clients do not allow their names to be used.

Who will build our system, and will they be the people in this meeting? Ask for names and roles, and ask how much of their time your project will get.

Will your engineers work inside our team, in our tools and repositories, or will you build it elsewhere and hand it over? Embedded work transfers knowledge as it goes. A handover at the end transfers a document.

How do you evaluate and monitor the AI once it is live? Ask to see an evaluation suite, the guardrails on what an agent can do, and the plan for when quality drifts.

What is the smallest useful first engagement, and what decision will it let us make? A good answer names a workshop, a proof of concept, or a short discovery, with a clear output.

Who owns the code, the prompts, the data pipelines, and the infrastructure after launch? Confirm that your team can change and run the system without the agency.

How will you integrate with our existing systems and data, and what happens if the proof of concept shows the idea will not work? An agency that has handled legacy APIs before, and that will tell you to stop, is safer than one that always recommends the next phase.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which AI agencies in London should I consider for building an AI product?

This guide ranks &above, Faculty, Ronins, Elsewhen, Foundry 5, Pixelfield, and Studio Graphene. Choose &above for an AI product or agents built by engineers embedded in your team, Faculty for high-assurance work in regulated sectors, Ronins for AI alongside growth work, Elsewhen for agents that replace an operational process, Foundry 5 for a fast first AI product, Pixelfield for AI agents in a mobile or web app, and Studio Graphene for a new AI-native product.

### What are the best AI companies in London for building AI agents?

In this list, &above, Ronins, Elsewhen, and Pixelfield publish specific AI agent development offers, and &above has named agents in production for Google Cloud and Tesco Retail Media. For firms that specialise in agents across the UK, see our list of the [top AI agent development companies in the UK](https://www.andabove.com/feed/top-ai-agent-development-companies-in-the-uk-2026.md).

### Who are the best AI strategy consultants in London?

That is a different question from who builds AI products. For strategy-led work, our guide to the [best AI consulting firms in London and the UK](https://www.andabove.com/feed/best-ai-consulting-firms-london-uk-2026.md) compares strategy houses, global integrators, Faculty as an AI specialist, and &above as an embedded product studio.

### Which design-led AI development agencies are in London?

&above builds with designers and engineers in one embedded team, and Studio Graphene offers AI product design and development from one studio. Our list of the [best AI product design agencies in London](https://www.andabove.com/feed/best-ai-product-design-agencies-in-london-2026.md) covers the design-led studios in more depth.

### How much does it cost to build an AI product with a London agency?

It depends on the scope, the data, the integrations, and the team. Ask each agency to price the same first outcome, and separate discovery, build, cloud, data preparation, licences, and support. Our guide to [how much AI product development costs](https://www.andabove.com/feed/how-much-does-ai-product-development-cost.md) explains the main cost drivers.

### Can a London AI agency embed engineers in our team?

Yes. &above's [forward-deployed engineers](https://www.andabove.com/services/forward-deployed-engineers.md) are senior AI engineers that &above hires and manages. They work inside your team, in your standups and repositories, so the capability stays in-house when the engagement ends.

### How do I test an AI agency before committing to a large build?

Start with a workshop or a proof of concept. A short, fixed first engagement shows you how the agency works, whether the idea is feasible, and whether the business case holds, before you commit to an embedded team.
